Low Carb Diet Meals For a Healthier You
By Jessica Tanady
Deciding to live a healthier lifestyle is one thing, but knowing which diet really suits you and choosing it is another. Whatever diet you decide to follow, be it a high protein diet or low carb vegetarian diet, make sure that low carb is integrated in the diet and in the foods you will be eating. The less carbs you are eating, the more your body will rely on your fat stores as its source of energy.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day – same holds true when you are on a low carb diet. You will want to eat foods like egg whites and turkey sausage with a slice of whole wheat toast. For dinner, you should be eating foods that have high amount of proteins – or eat vegetables if you intend to follow a low carb vegetarian diet. Do note that typically you will want to have more carbs for your low carb diet lunch, as this is the time when your energy level is at its highest.
In doing your diet, make sure that it does not affect your ability to do your day job effectively. For example, you don’t want your body to get too tired due to the lack of carb because you are not eating enough of them. You would just end up be testy and moody toward your work colleagues and do something you might regret later on. The last thing you would want to do is getting fired from snapping at some unfortunate soul at work. Hence, make sure you have enough carbs for both breakfast and lunch to last you the day.
Remember that the essence of a low carb diet, be it a high protein diet or a low carb vegetarian diet, is to provide just the right amount of carbs so that your body can burn them for energy. This can be achieved by having these carbs early in the day, such as during breakfast and lunch time. For dinner, however, you will want to limit your intake of carb or cut them out entirely, because the body is more than likely will convert them to fat.
Following the tips above will not be as effective if you don’t combine the diet with some regular exercises. In addition to your low carb diet breakfast, lunch and dinner – make sure that you have some routine workouts to achieve your weight loss goal quicker.
